5:30 - 7:30p.m.
Inova Solutions Conference Room
Overview
Join the Central Virginia Chapter of the American Marketing Association and Jaye Urgo, Sales Manager at NBC29, for a discussion of local media strategy directly relating to Superbowl 46. We'll take an in-depth look at how local businesses utilized NBC29 and the Superbowl to raise awareness of their products and services, including specific goals and preliminary return on investment information. Light refreshments and beverages will be served.
About Guest Speaker, Jaye Urgo
Born and raised in Meriden, Connecticut, Jaye received a BA in English from William & Mary. After working in newspaper and magazine advertising, joined WVIR-TV in 1985 and have been there since. After a short period of calling on local accounts, he became Regional Sales Manager, specializing in sales to agency accounts, such as the Virginia Lottery, banks, grocery stores, furniture stores, and restaurant chains. Now, in addition to those responsibilities, Jaye is Local Sales Manager, supervising the NBC29 local sales force.
Jaye specializes in creating local and regional media stategies for his clients. Buyers and planners at agencies often rely on him for market information and help in formulating their media plan. He also trains his staff in the use of media planning and presentation software.
Jaye lived in Nelson County from 1980 to 2005 and has been a Charlottesville/Albemarle resident since. He plays guitar in Soul Transit Authority and Jazz Collective #9. However, Jaye says the real stars of the family are his wife, who will be receiving her PhD in Nursing from UVA in May, his son, currently on tour in Europe with his band, The War on Drugs, who appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last month, and his stepdaughter, who is a national spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Artificial Pancreas Project.
